PHRYGIA. Laodicea ad Lycum, circa 160-145 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 27 mm, 12.54 g, 12 h). Cista mystica from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; to left, ΛAO; to right, river god Lykos running right on ground line. Kleiner-Noe 1d and pl. XXXVII, 1 = SNG von Aulock 3796 (this coin). Nicely toned and with a fine pedigree. Good very fine.
